On Wednesday December 15 The Jazz Workshop Biggish Band will perform it's last concert for 2004, at the Acoustic Café, 120 -124 Main Rd, Muizenberg (cnr Camp).

It has been a music venue for some years now, and some months ago new management installed a good sound system and some fine attitude  -- which together with with live acts 4 nights a week, and good food, makes for one of Cape Town's prime live music venues, living up in great style to their motto --  Dedicated to Original Music.

The gig at the Acoustic Cafe will be dedicated to our
regular 2nd Tenor, Graeme Thorne, who's not able
to perform this week, as he's having some lesser known
body parts replaced for the long haul ..

Here's a pic of Graeme in full swing earlier in the year
at the Mussel Festival at Langebaan

On Wednesday there will be a couvert charge of R30 and the gig will start at 21h00. We'll be playing a selection of our trademark repertoire of original Big Band Jazz, composed for us by Mertyn Barrow, David Ledbetter, Douglas Armstrong and Jannie 'Hanepoot' van Tonder, as well as some new arrangements of South African classics by Zakes Nkosi, Hugh Masekela, Dollar Brand, Chris McGregor, etc

So, with Thursday being a holiday, come and get into the swing of things for the summer season on Wednesday night with some grooving South African swing & jive ..

If we don't catch you at the gig, then have a wild & silly season and we'll see you next year at one of these:
